Create this Classic Lemonade Drink!
How to make great Homemade lemonade.
This will bring back those memories of your Mom's lemonade that you sold from a cardboard box on the street corner, with scribbled signs - "25 cents a cup." Can this be better than your mothers? Maybe.
Steps
  • Squeeze the lemons and strain the juice through a fine-mesh strainer to remove any seeds or pulp.

  • In a small saucepan, combine the sugar with 1 cup of water. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.

  • Remove from heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature.

  • In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, sugar syrup, and 6 cups of cold water. Stir well to combine.

  • Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or lemon juice as needed.

How to make

Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving. When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the lemonade over the ice.

Garnish with lemon slices, if desired.

Tips:

For a twist on classic lemonade, try adding some fresh herbs, such as mint or basil, to the mixture. You can also add some fruit slices, such as strawberries or raspberries, to the lemonade for added flavor and color.  To make a larger batch of lemonade, simply adjust the quantities of the ingredients accordingly.

Enjoy this summer classic!
